The five-time champion finished round two on +1, and with the cut line currently projected at +4, he is all-but guaranteed to play the weekend for the 24th-consecutive time.
Woods will break the all-time record of 23 straight cuts made, which he previously shared with Fred Couples and Gary Player.
That is despite being forced to play 23 holes on Friday with little-to-no recovery time after a rain delay pushed tee times back on Thursday.
The 15-time major winner finished the first round on +1 and battled his banged-up body through windy conditions to shoot a brilliant level-par 72 in round two.
Woods has not missed a cut at Augusta since his first victory in 1997 – including three appearances since a near-fatal car accident in 2021.
The golf legend was eight shots off the lead when he finished round two and still believes he can win.
When asked about the newly-set record, Woods said: “It’s consistency. You can’t win unless you’re here on the weekend.
“To have been able to make this cut so many times in a row… I got a chance going into this weekend.
“Anyone who makes the cut has a chance. And I’m right there.”
The 48-year-old has only played 72 holes at a major championship once in the last 24 months.
