Rafael Nadal withdrew from the Qatar Open due to a persistent left hip injury but expressed regret and aims to return for the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells.
Rafael Nadal has regrettably withdrawn from the upcoming Qatar Open in Doha, citing an ongoing left hip injury as the primary reason for his decision.
The 37-year-old expressed his disappointment in being unable to participate in the tournament, acknowledging the unwavering support he has received from the tournament team and the dedicated fans in Qatar.
In a statement shared on his social media platforms, Nadal conveyed his sentiments, stating, “I would have loved to play in Doha, where the tournament team, as well as the amazing Qatar fans have always supported me greatly.”
Despite the setback, Nadal remains focused on his recovery and has set his sights on participating in the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, scheduled for March.
“Unfortunately I am not ready to compete and I won’t be able to come to Doha where I really wanted to be and play again after that unforgettable win in 2014. I will focus on keep working to be ready for the exhibition in Las Vegas and the amazing Indian Wells tournament,” he added.
