The 22-time Grand Slam champion has not played since a second-round defeat to American Mackenzie McDonald at the Australian Open at the start of 2023 when he was hampered by a hip injury.

And now it’s time for Rafael Nadal’s BIG COMEBACK!

Nadal confirmed on social media that his comeback will take place in Australia next month as he begins his final year on the ATP Tour.

“After a year away from competition, it’s time to come back. It will be in Brisbane, the first week of January. I’ll see you there.”

Nadal came from two sets down to defeat Daniil Medvedev in the 2022 Australian Open final and then went on to win the French Open for a record-extending 14th time later that year.

Speaking recently, Novak Djokovic said he would like at least one more match with great rival Nadal.

“I think a lot of people would like it to be at Roland Garros. Why not? Although if you ask me, I’d say at any other place. It wouldn’t be bad at Roland Garros either, but Nadal is the player who has won the most times in history that tournament. Any place would be amazing for us and for the tennis world. It would be kind of the last dance. I don’t know how many more times we will have the chance to face each other and if we will even face each other. I hope we will because it’s something everyone wants, and I want it too.”
