It is no secret that the veteran centre-forward is not going to extend his current deal with the Rossoneri, which is due to expire on June 30.

He is eager to see out his career with a new experience in the United States of America and in particular is leaning towards Los Angeles FC.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claim that a basic agreement has now been reached for an 18-month contract that begins from July 1, when he will be a free agent.

He first came to San Siro from Chelsea in the summer of 2021 for just under €3m and proved to be a wonderful investment, contributing 46 goals and 20 assists in 121 competitive games for the club.

However, he will turn 38 in September and the Rossoneri must look to the future with younger strikers.

Giroud proved he’s still got it, as on Tuesday evening he scored in France’s 3-2 friendly win over Chile, consolidating his status as the top all-time scorer in the history of Les Bleus.
