Manchester United are monitoring Stuttgart forward Serhou Guirassy with a view to a future transfer.

However it’s unlikely that any such move would materialise in January.

The Red Devils are looking at potential striking options with the Guinea forward among the most in-form stars in Europe. Playing for Stuttgart, Guirassy has racked up 18 goals in just 14 appearances for the German side after managing an impressive 13 in 29 last term.

Guirassy’s goal tally of 16 in the Bundesliga this season is only bettered by Harry Kane, who has 18 in the league for Bayern Munich. The 27-year-old would also be available for a fee of just £17.25millon, a relative bargain for a club of Man United’s stature.

Erik ten Hag is looking at solutions for their striking woes with Anthony Martial and Rasmus Hojlund the only fit centre forwards in their senior squad.

While highly rated, Hojlund is yet to score for the Red Devils in the Premier League, and Martial could be moved on sooner rather than later after a disappointing few years.

Scoring goals will be essential for Man United to fulfill their objectives this season. Having been eliminated from the Champions League after finishing bottom of their group, Ten Hag’s side will be hoping to improve on their current sixth place position to earn a spot in next season’s competition.
