Leny Yoro has made a decisive move for his future. The 18-year-old French centre-back will join Manchester United and stay with the club until 2029. He has left Ligue 1 side Lille to make this switch.

Manchester United confirmed the signing on their official website. Yoro has signed a five-year contract, with an option for an additional year. He underwent medical tests in Manchester, which he passed successfully.

Initially, Leny Yoro was leaning towards a transfer to Real Madrid. However, concerns about his potential role there and the lack of enthusiasm from the Spanish side led him to choose Manchester United instead.

Yoro expressed his excitement about the move, saying, “Signing for a club with the stature and ambition of Manchester United so early in my career is an incredible honor. I am aware of the club’s history with young players and believe this is the perfect place to reach my potential and achieve my ambitions with my new teammates. I can’t wait to get started.”

The transfer cost Manchester United a reported 62 million euros, which includes 50 million euros as a fixed fee plus 12 million euros in add-ons. Yoro will likely form a formidable partnership with Lisandro Martinez in defense for the 2024/25 season.
