Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace.

The Frenchman has ended his three-year stay at Selhurst Park and upped sticks for Bayern after they agreed to meet the £45m release clause in his contract.

Chelsea and Manchester United were among the other teams interested in signing Olise this summer, but he has now put pen to paper on a deal at Bayern.

Bayern are busy making changes to their first-team in hope of regaining the Bundesliga title after Bayer Leverkusen ended their decade-long grip on the German crown.

They have turned to the Premier League for a marquee name for a third summer running having previously signed Sadio Mane from Liverpool in 2022 and then Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023.

Olise joins a star-studded list of forward options at the Allianz Arena that includes Kane, Jamal Musiala, Leroy Sane, Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman.

Bayern recently appointed Vincent Kompany as their new head coach after an extensive search for a successor to Thomas Tuchel, and will now turn their attention to strengthening in other areas during the transfer window.

Palace, meanwhile, now face a battle to keep hold of another star player in Eberechi Eze, who is currently away with England at Euro 2024.
